Tank Mixing Tips
How to Calculate Liquid Nutrients
Nutrients per Gallon of Product
Formula: Weight per gallon x % Nutrient
(Example) 29-2-3 Andersons Fluid Fertilizer
11 lbs per gal X 29% Nitrogen = 3.2 pounds of Nitrogen per gallon
How to Calculate Liquid Nutrients
Nutrients per Ounce of Product
Formula: Pounds of Nutrient per Gallon 128 oz
(Example) 29-2-3 Andersons Fluid Fertilizer
3.2 pounds of Nitrogen per gallon 128 oz = 0.025 lbs of Nitrogen per ounce
THEN: For a 1/4 lb N/1000 sq ft do: 0.25 (amount of N) ¸ 0.025 (N per oz) = 10 oz 10 oz per 1000 sq ft delivers 1/4 lb N per 1000 sq ft
- Check sprayer for correct calibration.
- Refer to label recommendations to determine amount of water needed/1000 ft2 (Ex: 1¼ to 2½ gal /1000 sq ft)
- For best results: Use room temperature to luke-warm water for tank mixing.
- Jar Test-Put small amounts of end tank mix in jar to check compatibility.
- Your spray tank should be at least half full of water before adding any chemicals.
